How We Work:
The Ingenium Books' Process

We approach each book project essentially the same way.
It involves integrating two distinct processes:

the creative process and the book writing, production, and publishing process.

Our 7-Step Book Creation Process

1. Discovery

Your first step is a discovery call with us so we can assess your book idea. Does it make sense as a book? Is it a fit with Ingenium Books? We do not accept every submission, and we want to ensure the best experience and outcome for the authors we do accept.

2. Purpose

You'll work with us on clarifying your purpose for writing the book, your goals and objectives, and identifying your reader. This provides the strategic framework for the book — and for the entire creative process.

3. Content

Together we build the content structure, which is the outline or working table of contents. This provides us with guidelines, like a roadmap, for all the ideas and content in the book.

4. Interviews

You'll do a series of interviews with us which provide the bulk of the content for the book and allow us to capture your voice and tone.

5. Editing

Your interview transcripts are transformed into a manuscript. This is an iterative process. You'll review, provide input, then we'll do the final editing for a publish-ready manuscript.

6. Publishing

Interior layout, custom cover design, for paperback, ebook, and hardcover. We take care of all the distribution and publishing details, producing a book that will be at home on the shelves of any bookstore.

7. Marketing

We educate, collaborate, and promote. Every author gets a free copy of our book, How to Create Your Book Marketing Strategy, as well as access to a free webinar on the same topic. We help you get reviews, and provide a launch-week plan that includes Amazon promotions.
*Some initiatives contain more aggressive marketing activities than others. Check for details.

Working with Ingenium Books was an awesome experience. Ingenium Books offers more value than you can get anywhere. They have a marketing component too. The Ingenium team did it all for me.

The 5-Step Creative Process

Creativity doesn't magically happen.
It's a cognitive process producing new ideas or transforming existing ideas into new constructs.

“Creativity is a lot like looking at the world through a kaleidoscope. You look at a set of elements, the same ones everyone else sees, but then reassemble those floating bits and pieces into an enticing new possibility.”

-  Rosabeth Moss Kanter, Professor Harvard Business School
