FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE—Toronto, ON, Friday, December 19, 2025 — Ingenium Books has announced the signing of author TJ Seefeldt to publish his forthcoming novel, Second Chances, a provocative and emotionally charged exploration of redemption, purpose, and what happens when humanity dares to rewrite the rules of life itself.

“The idea was floating in my head for a long time,” Seefeldt says about what prompted him to start writing Second Chances. “Then I shared this idea with a writer. He said not to share it with anybody else. And to write it. I didn’t, and I did.”

Set against a backdrop of moral ambiguity and scientific ambition, Second Chances imagines a world where humanity’s biggest leaps forward come from extraordinary second lifers—but some devils are cheating the system. Now it’s up to a has-been reporter to uncover the truth and stop them.

Seefeldt is no stranger to second chances in life. In 2010, the Edmonton-based former newspaper reporter suffered a stroke and had to relearn the ability to read and write. He has worked in communications ever since and has also blogged about his journey. “I wanted a second chance,” he says. “I got it. I didn’t waste it.”
