My Self-Publishing Journey: David Rhodd Guest Author Post

If you are reading this guest post right now, you are a wannabe author, an author, or perhaps you’re an expert in hiding. You may or may not have embarked on a self-publishing journey, and you’re probably someone that has a gift, someone that has greatness within you, as per Les Brown. And, you realize that you have something you want to share with other people on this earth. You choose not to simply exist…

Well that’s what is happening to me. My gift is finances: taking difficult, complicated financial situations and providing clear-cut solutions for my clients. And I got to a point where I wanted to be able to reach a wider audience and raise my game to the next level.

The best way to do that, and to stand out in a crowded marketplace, is to write a book. Because then, whether you are the expert or not the expert, because you DO stand out. That’s the kind of branding that comes along with writing a book. I’m sure you’ve gone to all the seminars where they say, write a book, write a book, write a book! To do that, many of us these days are choosing a self-publishing journey.

My Self-Publishing Journey

Long JourneyTo be honest, I thought it was going to be a very easy process. I started to write, and then I started to audio record it, and do some videos. You know what comes next, right? You lose some creativity and then life happens, and you stop. And you start up again because this is something that is in you and you want to get it out…

That’s the process I was in for two long years. I was expecting to finish in six months! Luckily for me, I got to the point where I recognized that I wanted to be on this self-publishing journey with the help of someone else. I didn’t want to do this alone! This is a big journey, this is a big feat, and I knew that whatever I put out there into the world, I wanted it to be as close to perfect as humanly possible.

Meantime I’m busy running my business. So I went and looked for different people that could help pull out of me what my audience needs. Because I have everything in my head, figured out, but I sometimes had trouble translating that into the written word so that they could understand it. It’s a bit difficult. So I searched the web, scoured the web, and I found Boni and Ingenium Books.

How It All Started

Working with Boni and Ingenium Books was an awesome experience. Just to go back to how it all started. I was able to give Boni my draft manuscript.  She was able to review it all and gave me a series of interviews to extract more information from me that would help make my book more readable and more understandable to my target audience. She was very good at helping me narrow down who my target audience was and helped me to speak to them in their problems and solutions and address what they’re looking for.

After the series of interviews, she was able to expand the book and make it an easy read. So that when you pick up that book you’re getting information, but you’re getting it in a way that you don’t want to put the book down ever. You want to finish reading it chapter by chapter by chapter to get to the end.

Once we completed the book, Boni edited, proofread, and then created multiple formats for ePub and Amazon, etc.

A One-Stop Shop

I did search around for other publishers and let me tell you Ingenium Books offers more value than you can get anywhere. Ingenium Books is a one-stop-shop, whereas I would have needed to find someone to help me expand the content, then someone else to edit, someone else who could get it into the proper formats, then someone else to publish the book for me and help me to get it into all the proper distribution channels, plus they had a marketing component they offer as well. That is a one-stop shop instead of you having to go to different people… you know an editor here, a copywriter here, and a publisher here and a ghostwriter here…

The Ingenium team did it all for me.

Hindsight is 20-20

Now looking back at this two-year self-publishing journey that I went on… what would I have done differently? Well, as soon as I put pen to paper, I would have picked up the phone and given Ingenium Books a call right away! Because then my book would have been out within months and it would have been helping people long ago.

Now I’m a #1 Bestseller!

Bestseller! My book is out now, and I’m thankful for that. I’m even more thankful that as of today, June 4 2018, I’m #1 in two categories! But the pain I went through, the stress I went through? I didn’t have to go through that! I should have just given the Ingenium Books’ team the project originally and all that stress would have been gone!

My book is now live and for sale on Amazon, and I’m running a special. A special pricing for one week only! So click the link below and hop on over to Amazon, and get it at my special pricing and you’ll see the type of quality that Boni and Ingenium Books delivers!
