🛠️ What You'll Do

  • Coordinate and update publishing projects in Trello to keep authors, editors, designers, and stakeholders aligned.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for authors and freelancers.
  • Track and support production schedules, release dates, team assignments, and title lifecycle oversight.
  • Help maintain author- and public-facing tools, update key project status reports for authors
  • Participate in project planning discussions with the publisher and team.
  • Set up new project workflows and maintain metadata integrity across platforms.
  • Support monthly author community events and occasional Canva-based design tasks.
  • Contribute to a dynamic, flexible team with ideas for process improvement.

🎯Your Ideal Experience

  • Publishing project coordination or editorial operations experience (required).
  • Knowledge of ONIX metadata, distributor interface platforms (e.g. KDP, IngramSpark, Kobo, etc. (strong asset).
  • Familiarity with taxonomy principles and cloud file management.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills (we’re a publishing company!).
  • Bonus if you’ve previously led transition projects for a publisher changing title management systems, distributors, or distribution models.

💻 This Role Is Perfect for You If You…

  • Want to contribute meaningfully without returning to full-time work.
  • Enjoy variety, autonomy, and staying “in the know” at the heart of a team.
  • Are flexible, open to evolving duties, and unafraid of ambiguity.
  • Are energized by deadlines, details, and continuous learning.
  • Believe that helping others succeed is the best kind of success.
  • Located (at least most of the time) in North America (for time zone cohesion).

  • Remote-first work environment, flexible hours
  • Part-time contract role (~10–20 hours/week)
  • Opportunity to grow with us as we grow
  • Direct engagement with a purpose- and values-driven publishing team
