Beauty in Everything Foundation Hosts Book Launch & Ongoing Fundraiser
Author Tricia Jacobson releases NOVA: The Courage to Rise with event supporting Kansas City female youth
Kansas City, MO – Over 50 people gathered December 3, 2021 to celebrate the launch of author Tricia Jacobson’s first book NOVA: The Courage To Rise, published by Ingenium Books, and to raise funds for the Beauty in Everything Foundation at the Village of Loch Lloyd Clubhouse.
Beauty in Everything is a Kansas City-based foundation founded by Jacobson. The event specifically raised funds to support the foundation’s Beauty in Everything Box which connects local, underserved girls and young women to much-needed resources.
The Beauty in Everything Box is a free monthly box filled with hygiene, beauty products, and inspirational messages and is distributed across Kansas City to disadvantaged teen girls. NOVA: The Courage to Rise is a coming-of-age story that explores community, friendship, and faith, and how thinking differently about the past can build a meaningful future.
“It’s so special seeing each of you here tonight,” said Jacobson at the event. “Your support means so much to me as each of you represents one more person who can advocate for the very girl I desire to reach through Nova: The Courage to Rise. Nova charts the inner-growth journey of Aurora and Stella. Both grew up without their mother. Throughout their journey, they learn about the importance of empathy and kindness, authenticity and trustworthiness, positive self-talk and body image, and new ways to think about faith.”
Tricia Jacobson is a social entrepreneur, writer, blogger, finance veteran, and fierce child advocate. Tricia is the founder of the children’s clothing brand, Crossing Arrows, and Beauty in Everything Foundation. Tricia has been involved throughout her community through charitable organizations with most of her volunteer work focused on child advocacy.
Throughout the growth of Crossing Arrows, Tricia realized she wanted to inspire and empower girls on a larger platform and so the Beauty in Everything Foundation was created. She uses her leadership background and passion to empower girls to be courageous, kind, and thrive in this journey we call life.
“When I sat out to write this book, which any author will tell you is no easy task, my publisher continued to remind me that my ‘why’ was to inspire and empower girls to thrive,” said Jacobson. “My ‘why’ started with a young woman, Lily, in western Kansas, who is being raised by her 83-year-old grandfather. Lily has a remarkable grandfather who has made a lasting impact on her life, but Lily is still missing the motherly figure that all teen girls need. I wrote this book for all the Lilys of the world. To help them understand that they were put on this earth with a purpose.”
Since the Beauty in Everything program started just one year ago, 540 boxes have been distributed to local teens in need. Jacobson plans to include a copy of NOVA: The Courage to Rise in all future boxes. Donations made at the event, as well as future donations, will help make this happen.
